Director of the Nuclear Environmental Protection Program at Catholic University of America
About the speaker:
Dr. Werner Lutze is currently the Director of the Nuclear Environmental Protection Program at Catholic University of America (CUA), Washington, D.C. In 2010, he was the Program Director of the Master’s Program in Nuclear Environmental Protection, Catholic University. In 2001, he was a Research Scientist at Vitreous State Laboratory, CUA.
In 1993, he was a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering, University of New Mexico (UNM), Albuquerque and Director of UNM’s Center for Radioactive Waste Management
In 1992, he was a member of the Adjunct Faculty (Materials Science) at Technische Hochschule Aachen, Germany and Associate Director of INE, KfK. In 1990, he was a Research Scientist at the Institute for Nuclear Waste Management (INE), Nuclear Research Center Karlsruhe (KfK) and also a Lecturer (Materials Science) at University of Karlsruhe, Germany. In 1973, he was the Head of Research Group, Ceramics and Glass, Hahn Meitner Institut for Nuclear Research, Berlin, Germany
He received his PhD in Chemistry from Techinsche Universitaet Berlin, Germany in 1967 and his Masters in Chemistry, Freie Universitaet Berlin, Germany in 1963.
He is married to Neile Miller and they have two children.
